Baseball and beards go hand in hand, whether you’re a fan sporting a playoff beard in support of your favorite team or you're the best dang pitcher in the league. We took a look at a pile of professional baseball players from around the league who are sporting magnificent manes and ranked our faves. Without further adieu, here are the ten best beards in the league:
The Minnesota Twins outfielder, Byron Buxton seems only to get better with time. This man has been injured more times than we can count and despite that, is having the season of his entire career right now. Boasting the MLB lead in home runs for a week or two, he’s now tied for second place. Just as easily as he knocks it out of the park, Buxton rocks a full, luscious beard that glistens in the outfield and mesmerizes us all.
Despite the fact that this accomplished athlete has recently been released by the Angels, Albet Pujols has three MVP awards and two World Series rings. At Kingsmen, we think Albert’s biggest claim to fame is his beard, though, because that well-groomed Van Dyke sure makes his smile bright.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr
Listen, he’s not just a really speedy Canadian. Toronto Blue Jay Vladimir Guerrero is also a beacon of style with his golden dreads and his well-groomed chin curtain. His bold look is a true attention-grabber on the field and Vlad certainly pulls it off.
All-Star right fielder Mookie Betts brings style to the LA Dodgers with his goatee. It’s a winning look for a player often lauded as one of the best all around players in the entire league.
Marcell Ozuna represents the Dominican Republic on the field when he plays for the Atlanta Braves. We think maybe he got his nickname, the Big Bear, in part from the full beard he’s often sporting. Marcell has some beautiful whiskers, there’s no doubt.
The Boston Red Sox’s star shortstop is sometimes called the X-Man. He’s a two-time All-Star and two-time World Series winner but the winningest thing about Xander Bogaerts is his stylish stubble beard.
This pitcher for the Indians doesn’t have a long beard or a particularly epic beard, but what he does have is a glorious golden brown stubble. This guy recently beat covid, so he’s earned this badass look, for sure.
The Oakland Athletics starting pitcher went viral recently with his monkey tail beard. It’s kind of bizarre but it’s also a little bit magical and earned this pro a spot on our list of the best beards in baseball.
Fernando Tatis Jr
Nicknamed “El Niño” this pro shortstop for the San Diego Padres has a pretty glorious beard. Paired with his unique dreadlocks, this guy has one of the most head-turning looks in the league.
Now this is a luscious, dirty-blonde mane that has truly earned our admiration. Just looking at these epic whiskers proves that this Phillies right fielder spends some time grooming every morning. We can’t help but wonder which Kingsmen scent he’d love the most.
